Queer Company 3 cancelled
With tremendous reluctance, we find that we have no choice but to cancel QUEER COMPANY 3 due to lack of interest. We are more than grateful to those who registered, and those who have been enthusiastic about the project, but unfortunately it turned out that they were very much in the minority.
Everyone who registered will be contacted within the next few days and your registration fee will be refunded 100%. If you have not received your refund by 31 January 2018, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will investigate immediately.
We had always intended this to be the last event we ran, and so have no plans to organise anything similar in the future. For at least two of us this represents the end of a career of small- and large-scale convention organisation dating back to the early 1980s, and it isn’t quite the way we would have wanted to bow out – but, by the same token, we’re grateful for that background of experience which has taught us when it’s wisest to admit defeat.
We have very happy memories of Queer Company 1 and 2, and will be glad to support – to the extent that we can – any future attempt to run something on a similar scale, particularly in the northern part of England. Anyone considering taking up the baton and organising an event of their own, who feels we may be able to contribute in any way, will be very welcome to ask us.
Thank you to everyone who has given us their moral and practical support in this endeavour. We only wish we had been able to honour this properly by supplying the event we were all so much hoping to enjoy.
Sorrowfully yours –
